Clip your garden hose onto the tank
Turn a matching IBC outlet into a garden quick-connect water point. The extended black swivel adapter brings the red-handled lever tap forward, with a downward-facing male plug ready for a compatible female hose connector.
Two parts supplied: an S60x6 plastic adapter and a nickel-plated zinc lever tap with its quick-connect outlet.
Tank, existing tank valve, hose, female hose connector and PTFE tape are separate.
A quick hose connection, with lever shut-off
The tap's male garden quick plug accepts a compatible female click connector. Fit that separate connector to your hose, then push its socket onto the plug until engaged. The plug is not a bare hosetail: do not push unconnected hose straight over it.
The tap's ½-inch BSP male inlet screws into the adapter's matching female port. This thread size describes the joint between the tap and adapter, not the hose bore. Choose the hose-end connector for your hose size as well as the matching garden quick connection.
For a ½-inch garden hose, our standard white female hose connector is an optional hose-end fitting. It is separate from this kit and has no automatic water stop.
The red lever lets you open and close the tank's water supply at the tap. Shut it off and release trapped pressure before detaching the hose. Disconnecting a standard connector does not shut the tap automatically. Water flow depends on tank level, available head and the hose run; this kit does not increase pressure.
Check the thread and working space
The tank end needs a male S60x6 outlet, nominally 60mm with a 6mm coarse pitch. Check the actual tank or existing valve thread before ordering; not every IBC outlet is the same.
The plastic adapter is 100mm long overall and has a swivel arrangement to help position the tap. That is the full adapter length, not 100mm of extra installed projection. Allow room for the red lever, downward connector and hose, and support the hose so it does not pull sideways on the assembly.
Close the existing tank supply before fitting. Check the adapter washer and start the threads square. Use suitable sealing at the BSP joint where needed; PTFE tape is sold separately. Open the water gradually and inspect both the threaded and quick-connect joints before use.
Before you connect the hose
Is the female hose connector included?
No. IBC021E includes the extended S60x6 adapter and lever tap with its male garden quick outlet. Add a compatible female hose connector suited to your hose. Hose, tank and PTFE tape are also separate.
Does the ½-inch BSP inlet mean it only works with ½-inch hose?
No. The BSP size is the threaded tap-to-adapter joint. The hose-end fitting determines which hose you can connect: its socket must match the male garden plug and its hose grip must suit your hose.

What is BSP?
What is BSP thread size?
BSP (British Standard Pipe) is a nominal pipe-thread size, not a direct measurement of a fitting’s bore or outside diameter. For example, a ½-inch BSP male thread measures about 21mm across its outer thread crests.
These figures are approximate outside diameters of male BSP threads, to help identify the nominal size. They are not inch-to-millimetre unit conversions:
- 3/8" BSP → 16.66 mm
- 1/2" BSP → 20.95 mm
- 3/4" BSP → 26.44 mm
- 1" BSP → 33.25 mm
- 1.25" BSP → 41.91 mm
- 1.5" BSP → 47.80 mm
- 2" BSP → 59.61 mm
- 3" BSP → 87.88 mm
- 4" BSP → 113.03 mm
Measure across the outside of a male thread, then check its pitch and whether it is parallel or tapered. Diameter alone does not confirm compatibility. Check the product’s stated thread specification before connecting.
