Terms of service
Effective date: 19 August 2025
Welcome to Essential Online Traders (“EOTrader”, “we”, “us”, “our”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) set out the basis on which you use our website and purchase goods from us. By accessing our website, browsing, or placing an order, you agree to these Terms together with our Privacy Policy, Refund & Returns Policy and Shipping Policy. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law.
1. Access and Account
You must be at least 18 years old to place an order. You agree that all information you provide (including email, billing, payment and shipping details) is accurate and complete, and you are responsible for keeping your account secure and for all activity that occurs under it.
2. Products and Descriptions
We take care to describe and display products accurately; however, colours, sizes and finishes may vary slightly from how they appear on your device. All product descriptions, prices and availability are subject to change without notice. We may withdraw products from sale or limit quantities at our discretion. Nothing in this section affects your rights if goods are misdescribed under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
3. Orders and Acceptance
When you place an order, you are offering to purchase goods. We accept your order only when we send a dispatch confirmation. Until then, we may decline or cancel your order at our discretion (for example, if stock is unavailable, payment is not authorised, or an error in pricing/description is discovered). Orders are for personal use unless you enter a company name at checkout.
B2C (consumer) orders benefit from statutory rights, including cancellation under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. B2B (business) orders (identified where a company name is provided) do not carry statutory consumer cancellation rights; our Refund & Returns Policy applies in full.
4. Prices and Payment
Prices are shown in GBP and include VAT where applicable. Delivery charges (if any) are displayed at checkout. We take payment at the time you place your order. You confirm that you are authorised to use the chosen payment method. If payment fails or is reversed, we may cancel your order or request an alternative payment.
5. Shipping and Delivery
Dispatch and delivery timeframes are set out in our Shipping Policy. Delivery times are estimates and not guarantees. For consumer purchases, risk in the goods passes to you when they are delivered to your address. For business purchases, risk passes when goods are handed to the carrier. Title in the goods passes to you once full payment is received.
6. Returns, Refunds and Cancellations
Your rights and obligations are explained in our Refund & Returns Policy. In summary: consumers have a 14-day cooling-off period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 (you must notify us within this period and return the goods to receive a refund of the product price); faulty, damaged or misdescribed goods may be returned for a full refund, repair or replacement under the Consumer Rights Act 2015; return postage is your responsibility unless the item is faulty, damaged or incorrect; expedited delivery upgrades and pallet delivery charges are non-refundable unless the goods are faulty.
7. Warranties
All products carry a 6-month warranty against manufacturing defects unless a different period is stated on the product page. Claims made beyond 6 months may require evidence of a manufacturing fault and, where necessary, assessment by the manufacturer, which can take six months or longer. This warranty is in addition to your statutory rights.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on our website (including text, graphics, product listings, trademarks and logos) is owned by or licensed to EOTrader and may not be used without our prior written permission. You may use the site for personal, non-commercial purposes only.
9. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to use the site for unlawful purposes; interfere with site security; submit false information; impersonate others; attempt to access unauthorised accounts; or copy, scrape or misuse our content. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms.
10. Liability
We are responsible for supplying goods that are of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; (c) defective products under the Consumer Protection Act 1987; or (d) any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.
We are not liable for business losses (including loss of profits, revenue or goodwill), delays caused by carriers once goods have been dispatched, or indirect or consequential losses.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Where changes are material, we will provide reasonable notice on our website and/or by email. Changes will not apply retrospectively to orders placed before the change takes effect.
12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. You and EOTrader agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to resolve any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms.
