  • ¾-inch BSP male inlet for a matching female fitting — choose this version when your existing outlet or adapter is ¾-inch BSP female. Check the connection first, as the similar-looking ½-inch version uses a different inlet thread.
  • Click your garden hose on when needed — the fitted male quick-connect spigot accepts a compatible female garden hose connector. Detach the hose at the coupling when you want to move it or put it away.
  • Orange turning knob for manual flow control — the broad, ridged screw-type handle is easy to identify against the black body. Turn it to open, adjust or close the flow, leaving enough space around the knob for comfortable access.
  • Polypropylene body with a curved downward spout — the lightweight black PP tap positions the hose outlet below the main body. Check the available clearance for your hose coupling and support the hose so it cannot pull against the fitting.
  • One tap with its quick-connect outlet supplied — the female hose connector, hose and any bulkhead, mounting nut, washer or adapter are separate items. Select those parts to match your container connection and the hose you already use.

Description

A hose connection for your ¾-inch BSP outlet

Fit this polypropylene bib tap to a matching ¾-inch BSP female connection, then attach your garden hose using a compatible female quick connector.

The orange turning knob controls the water at the tap. Its curved spout directs the quick-connect fitting downwards, keeping the hose attachment below the body.

A useful replacement or addition where the inlet thread matches your existing fitting. One tap supplied; hose and mounting accessories are separate.

Two connections to choose correctly

The tap’s inlet thread and your hose size describe different parts of the installation.

The threaded inlet

Match the ¾-inch BSP male thread to a ¾-inch BSP female fitting. A tank outlet with another thread needs an appropriate adapter; a similar outside diameter is not enough to establish a match.

The quick-connect outlet

A compatible female garden connector clicks onto the supplied male spigot. The hose itself does not push directly over this outlet as it would over a barbed hose tail.

The hose-side connector

Choose the female connector for the bore of your hose. A ½-inch garden hose can be used with a matching ½-inch hose connector; it does not need to be ¾-inch just because the tap inlet is ¾-inch BSP.

Check the thread before replacing your tap

The ¾-inch BSP male inlet is identified in the product photograph. BSP is a nominal pipe-thread size rather than a direct measurement across the outside of the thread.

Check the fitting already on your water butt, tank adapter or garden outlet. This listing supplies the tap alone, so it is not a complete through-wall mounting kit.

Isolate the water before removing an old fitting. Start the new thread by hand, use the sealing arrangement appropriate to the joint and avoid overtightening the plastic body.

Attach the hose. Keep the control within reach.

The outlet’s sealing O-ring and quick-connect profile provide the attachment point for a compatible female hose connector. Push the connector on fully and check that it is retained before turning on the water.

Use the orange screw-type knob to adjust the flow. Leave room around the knob and beneath the curved spout so the hose connector can be attached and released without twisting the tap.

Test the threaded joint and coupling after fitting. Support the hose, keep the connector and O-ring clean, and drain exposed fittings before freezing conditions.

Choosing and fitting this tap

Does ¾-inch BSP mean I need a ¾-inch hose?

No. It describes the threaded inlet that attaches the tap to the installation. The outlet uses a garden quick connector. Choose the female connector to match your hose bore, then check that its coupling fits the tap spigot.

Are the nut and washer included for fitting through a tank wall?

This listing supplies one tap with its quick-connect outlet. A mounting nut, washer, bulkhead and other adapters are not included. Choose a mounting arrangement that suits your container and presents the correct connection.

How is the water flow controlled?

Turn the broad orange screw-type knob to open, adjust and close the water flow. This is a round turning control rather than a quarter-turn lever. Operate it gently without forcing it beyond its stopping point.

Can I connect the tap directly to an IBC outlet?

Only if an adapter already fitted to the IBC presents a matching ¾-inch BSP female connection. A large coarse S60x6 IBC thread is a different connection and needs an appropriate adapter. Identify the actual outlet before choosing parts.

What is BSP?

What is BSP thread size?
BSP (British Standard Pipe) is a nominal pipe-thread size, not a direct measurement of a fitting’s bore or outside diameter. For example, a ½-inch BSP male thread measures about 21mm across its outer thread crests.

These figures are approximate outside diameters of male BSP threads, to help identify the nominal size. They are not inch-to-millimetre unit conversions:

  • 3/8" BSP → 16.66 mm
  • 1/2" BSP → 20.95 mm
  • 3/4" BSP → 26.44 mm
  • 1" BSP → 33.25 mm
  • 1.25" BSP → 41.91 mm
  • 1.5" BSP → 47.80 mm
  • 2" BSP → 59.61 mm
  • 3" BSP → 87.88 mm
  • 4" BSP → 113.03 mm

Measure across the outside of a male thread, then check its pitch and whether it is parallel or tapered. Diameter alone does not confirm compatibility. Check the product’s stated thread specification before connecting.
