Description
A quick-connect end for your hose
Fit this grey and white female hose connector to a ½-inch garden hose to connect it to compatible watering equipment. The female garden socket accepts a matching male click plug on a nozzle, spray gun or suitable tap adapter.
The hose is held by the rear retaining nut and gripping teeth. A separate release collar uncouples the plug, so you do not need to undo the hose connection each time you disconnect an accessory.
One connector supplied. Hose, adapters and watering tools are sold separately. Photos showing hose or more than one view illustrate fitting and appearance.

Attach it once, then use the click socket
The hose-retaining nut and accessory release do different jobs.
Fit the hose
Shut off the water and release pressure. Remove the rear retaining nut and slide it over a sound hose end. Push the ½-inch hose fully onto the gripping section, then tighten the nut by hand.
Connect the plug
Insert a compatible male garden click plug into the female socket until engaged. Open the tap gradually and check both connections. A bare threaded tap needs its own suitable adapter.
Disconnect and drain
Turn off the tap and release pressure, then use the release collar to remove the mating plug. Leave the hose nut fitted unless removing the connector from the hose. Drain after use and keep grit out of the socket.

Recognise the hose joint
The fitting photo shows where the rear nut sits around the hose. The hose remains attached here when you release a watering accessory from the female socket at the other end. The blue hose is shown for illustration and is not included.
The specified ½-inch size refers to the garden hose. It does not make the female socket a ½-inch BSP thread: threaded taps need a separate adapter ending in a compatible male garden plug.
If a connection drips, shut off the water before checking the hose end, seating and mating plug. Do not rely on extra force on the retaining nut to compensate for an incorrect hose size or damaged hose.
Grey connector questions
Which hose size does this version take?
It is specified for ½-inch garden hose. Do not assume it fits ⅝-inch hose because another connector in the range does; use a fitting expressly specified for your hose size.
Can it attach directly to my tap?
It connects to a compatible male garden click plug. If your tap has a bare BSP thread, you need a separate tap adapter matched to that thread and providing the right plug.
Does it shut off automatically when disconnected?
This is the standard connector, not the separately specified water-stop version. Turn off the tap and release pressure before disconnecting it.
How many connectors are supplied?
One grey and white connector. The hose shown in fitting photos and any tap adapters, joiners, nozzles or spray guns are separate items.
