Description
A tap where you need it
Bring your MDPE pipe to a wall-mounted garden watering point. This kit combines a black compression wall flange with a silver-finished lever tap and a male quick-connect hose outlet.
The red lever provides manual water control, while a matching female connector lets you attach your garden hose. The tap has a nickel-plated zinc body.
Choose 20mm or 25mm to match the outside diameter of your MDPE pipe. One selected flange and matching tap are supplied; the female hose-end connector is separate.
Choose the inlet for your pipe
The pipe size changes the flange and tap inlet thread. Both options have a male garden quick-connect hose outlet.
20mm pipe option
For 20mm outside-diameter MDPE pipe.
The compression wall flange has a ½-inch BSP female outlet, paired with a ½-inch BSP male lever tap.
25mm pipe option
For 25mm outside-diameter MDPE pipe.
The compression wall flange has a ¾-inch BSP female outlet, paired with a ¾-inch BSP male lever tap.
Click the hose onto the tap
The metal plug at the end of the spout is a male quick-connect fitting. It takes a matching female hose-end connector; it is not a hose tail for bare hose.
Choose that connector for the hose you use. For ½-inch garden hose, our brass female hose connector is one option, available separately in Frequently bought together.
Mount the tap where the lever has room to move and the connector can be reached easily. Turn off the water before disconnecting the hose.
Make a secure watering point
Plan the mounting, pipe support and threaded seal before assembly.
Fix and support
Use the flange's mounting holes with fixings appropriate to the wall or post. Support the MDPE pipe separately so its weight does not pull on the connection.
Connect the pipe
Isolate and depressurise the supply. Prepare a clean, square pipe end and follow the fitting guidance for insertion depth, tightening and any pipe-liner requirement.
Fit the tap
Seal the matching BSP joint using an appropriate method, supporting the flange as you tighten. Avoid overtightening the plastic thread or forcing the tap round to align it. Leave the lever and outlet accessible, then check the joints when restoring the supply.
Before you order
Does 20mm or 25mm describe the hose connection?
No. It describes the outside diameter of the MDPE pipe entering the flange. The hose attaches to the tap's male quick-connect outlet using a separate female connector selected for the hose size.
What arrives with my order?
One wall flange in the selected MDPE size and one matching nickel-plated zinc lever tap with its male quick-connect outlet. Pipe, wall or post fixings, support clips, PTFE tape and the female hose-end connector are not included.

What is BSP?
What is BSP thread size?
BSP (British Standard Pipe) is a nominal pipe-thread size, not a direct measurement of a fitting’s bore or outside diameter. For example, a ½-inch BSP male thread measures about 21mm across its outer thread crests.
These figures are approximate outside diameters of male BSP threads, to help identify the nominal size. They are not inch-to-millimetre unit conversions:
- 3/8" BSP → 16.66 mm
- 1/2" BSP → 20.95 mm
- 3/4" BSP → 26.44 mm
- 1" BSP → 33.25 mm
- 1.25" BSP → 41.91 mm
- 1.5" BSP → 47.80 mm
- 2" BSP → 59.61 mm
- 3" BSP → 87.88 mm
- 4" BSP → 113.03 mm
Measure across the outside of a male thread, then check its pitch and whether it is parallel or tapered. Diameter alone does not confirm compatibility. Check the product’s stated thread specification before connecting.
