Description
A brass connection for your garden hose
Give a ½-inch garden hose a female quick-connect end with this brass hose connector. Its socket accepts a compatible male garden plug, letting you connect the hose to a watering accessory or suitable tap adapter.
The hose attaches with a screw-on retaining nut. At the opposite end, the sliding release collar lets you uncouple the mating plug without undoing that hose attachment.
One brass connector supplied. Hose, tap adapters, spray guns, nozzles and other fittings are sold separately.

From hose end to watering tool
Check both the hose size and the mating plug before you fit the connector.
Attach the hose
Turn off the tap and release pressure. Loosen the retaining nut, slide it over the hose and seat a sound hose end fully on the gripping section. Tighten the nut by hand. The specified hose size is ½-inch.
Make the click connection
Insert a compatible male garden plug into the female socket until it engages. Open the tap gradually and check both joints. A tap with a bare BSP thread needs a separate adapter with the correct male click plug.
Disconnect at the collar
Shut off the supply and release pressure before pulling back the release collar to remove the mating plug. Leave the hose-retaining nut fitted unless you are removing the connector from the hose. Drain after use.

The hose grip and release collar are separate
The close-up shows the hose-entry end and retaining nut. This is where the hose is secured. The female garden socket at the other end provides the quick connection to your watering equipment.
A hose size and a tap thread size describe different connections. This fitting is specified for ½-inch garden hose; it is not a ½-inch BSP tap connector. Check the separate tap adapter if you are connecting at the water supply.
Keep dirt out of the socket and inspect the hose end and mating plug if the connection drips. Refit with the tap off rather than tightening or releasing a pressurised joint.
Choosing and using this brass connector
Can I use it on ⅝-inch or ¾-inch hose?
This brass version is specified for ½-inch garden hose. Do not assume that the broader size range of another connector applies here; choose a fitting stated to suit your hose.
What connects to the female socket?
A compatible male garden click plug, such as the plug on a watering nozzle or suitable tap adapter. Two female connectors do not plug directly into each other; a matching double-male joiner would be separate.
Is it a threaded tap adapter?
No. The female connection is a garden quick-connect socket. A threaded tap needs a separate adapter matched to its thread and ending in a compatible male garden plug.
What is included with the connector?
One brass female hose connector for ½-inch garden hose. Hose, tap adapters, nozzles, spray guns and other fittings are not included.
