Description
A BSP outlet for your IBC
Make a matching IBC outlet ready for your chosen pipe, valve or hose fitting. This black adapter fits a male S60x6 coarse tank thread and provides a 1-inch BSP male outlet at the front.
The finely ribbed collar gives you a hand grip for fitting, while a sealing ring sits inside the tank end. The short threaded outlet keeps the connection straightforward: choose a separate 1-inch BSP female fitting for the job you want it to do.
One adapter with tank-side sealing ring supplied. Tank, valve and downstream fittings are separate.

Two threads, two separate checks
At the tank: the large female collar screws onto a matching male S60x6 outlet. Check the thread and sealing face on your tank or valve before ordering; a general 2-inch description alone does not establish a match.
At the front: the smaller external thread takes a 1-inch BSP female fitting. The BSP size describes a pipe-thread standard, not the diameter of a hose you can push onto it.
The genuine rear-view photo shows where the tank-side ring seals. Keep the ring correctly seated and the mating face clean. Your separate BSP fitting needs its own appropriate sealing arrangement.
Build the connection your setup needs
Close the tank valve before removing or fitting the adapter. Start the collar squarely by hand and check the tank-side seal as it seats. A mismatched thread should never be forced to fit.
Fit your chosen compatible BSP accessory to the front, supporting any hose or pipe so its weight does not hang from the adapter. Check the completed connection before use. This is an open adapter, so flow remains controlled by your tank valve or a separately fitted valve.
Before you connect it
Can I push a 1-inch hose straight onto the outlet?
No. The outlet is a male BSP thread, not a hose barb. Use a separate 1-inch BSP female hose-tail fitting matched to the hose's internal diameter, with suitable hose retention.
Is this a blanking cap or a tap?
Neither. Although it has a cap-shaped body, the adapter has an open passage through to the BSP outlet. It does not close off the tank or include a shut-off mechanism.

What is BSP?
What is BSP thread size?
BSP (British Standard Pipe) is a nominal pipe-thread size, not a direct measurement of a fitting’s bore or outside diameter. For example, a ½-inch BSP male thread measures about 21mm across its outer thread crests.
These figures are approximate outside diameters of male BSP threads, to help identify the nominal size. They are not inch-to-millimetre unit conversions:
- 3/8" BSP → 16.66 mm
- 1/2" BSP → 20.95 mm
- 3/4" BSP → 26.44 mm
- 1" BSP → 33.25 mm
- 1.25" BSP → 41.91 mm
- 1.5" BSP → 47.80 mm
- 2" BSP → 59.61 mm
- 3" BSP → 87.88 mm
- 4" BSP → 113.03 mm
Measure across the outside of a male thread, then check its pitch and whether it is parallel or tapered. Diameter alone does not confirm compatibility. Check the product’s stated thread specification before connecting.
