Description
A simple tap for a quick-connect hose
Control water at a compatible garden or water-butt connection, then clip your prepared hose onto the outlet. This grey polypropylene tap has a blue lever, a ¾-inch BSP male inlet and a male garden quick-connect plug.
An inlet washer is supplied. Check the thread and sealing face on your existing connection before fitting; water-butts and tanks use different outlet arrangements.
One tap with inlet washer supplied. Hose, female hose connector, tank adapters and mounting fittings are sold separately.

Start with the connection on your tank
The inlet has a ¾-inch BSP male thread. It needs a suitable matching female connection, either on the outlet itself or on a separate adapter. Do not select a replacement from the opening's appearance alone.
The supplied washer sits at the inlet shoulder. Check that the receiving fitting provides the appropriate sealing face and that the washer is seated correctly. A washer cannot compensate for a mismatched thread or unsuitable mounting arrangement.
If you are fitting through a tank wall rather than into an existing threaded outlet, check the additional mounting components required. A backnut or tank-connector kit is not included.

Prepare the hose, then clip it on
The downward outlet is a male garden quick-connect plug. Your hose needs a compatible female garden connector. Choose its hose-gripping end to match the hose's actual internal diameter.
The inlet's ¾-inch BSP designation is a supply-thread size. It does not specify the hose bore and does not turn this outlet into a ¾-inch hosetail.
Allow room below the tap to attach and release the connector. Route the hose with a gentle bend so its weight and sideways pull are supported rather than carried by the plastic spout.
Fit, check and use
A few checks help you choose the right connection and keep the tap accessible.
Check the receiving fitting
Confirm the ¾-inch BSP female thread, sealing face and mounting support. Isolate or drain the supply as appropriate before removing an old tap. Keep the supplied washer clean and undamaged.
Position the tap
Fit without forcing or overtightening the plastic parts. Leave clearance for the blue lever, hose connector and hose bend. Check the inlet joint with water restored gradually before relying on the installation.
Use with your supply
The lever controls the outlet; available flow depends on the source, water level or pressure, hose and attached equipment. Drain exposed fittings before freezing weather. No frostproof or drinking-water specification is confirmed.
Before choosing this tap
Is a hose connector included?
The tap has its male garden quick-connect outlet. The separate female connector that grips the hose is not included; select a compatible connector for your hose bore.
Will it fit every UK water butt?
No universal fit is claimed. Check for a suitable ¾-inch BSP female connection and the required sealing and mounting arrangement. Other thread sizes or tank openings need an appropriate separate adapter.
What does the supplied washer seal?
The washer is supplied for the inlet connection. Its sealing face needs to seat against a suitable receiving surface. Check the particular fitting arrangement rather than assuming the washer alone guarantees a seal.
Does ¾-inch BSP mean a ¾-inch hose?
No. It identifies the male supply thread. The hose connects through a separate compatible female garden connector, whose hose end must match your hose's actual bore.

What is BSP?
What is BSP thread size?
BSP (British Standard Pipe) is a nominal pipe-thread size, not a direct measurement of a fitting’s bore or outside diameter. For example, a ½-inch BSP male thread measures about 21mm across its outer thread crests.
These figures are approximate outside diameters of male BSP threads, to help identify the nominal size. They are not inch-to-millimetre unit conversions:
- 3/8" BSP → 16.66 mm
- 1/2" BSP → 20.95 mm
- 3/4" BSP → 26.44 mm
- 1" BSP → 33.25 mm
- 1.25" BSP → 41.91 mm
- 1.5" BSP → 47.80 mm
- 2" BSP → 59.61 mm
- 3" BSP → 87.88 mm
- 4" BSP → 113.03 mm
Measure across the outside of a male thread, then check its pitch and whether it is parallel or tapered. Diameter alone does not confirm compatibility. Check the product’s stated thread specification before connecting.
