  • 20m of soil-level watering — follow a hedge, border or vegetable row with this CostWise porous soaker hose. Water seeps through the recycled-rubber wall along the planting route, rather than being sprayed over the foliage.
  • Quick connector and end cap already fitted — connect the supply end to a compatible female garden hose fitting. One prepared 20m hose is supplied; your supply hose, tap adapter, fixing pegs, timer and pressure controls are separate.
  • Keep working pressure within 0.7 bar — check the supply and use suitable pressure controls where required. Trial the complete route above ground, inspect the connections and check the soil near both ends before settling on a watering time.
  • Visible or buried installation — position the nominal ½-inch hose with gentle bends beside the roots, or bury it up to 20cm after testing. It can be cut for a different layout with appropriate additional connections and end stops. Not for drinking water or hot water.

Description

Follow your planting with a 20m watering route

Give a hedge, border or vegetable row a dedicated supply of water at soil level. This 20m CostWise soaker hose releases water through its porous recycled-rubber wall, letting you position the watering route close to the plants.

The garden quick connector and end cap are factory fitted. Lay out the hose before burying it so you can check the connections, pressure and wetted soil along the route.

Water where the roots are growing

Unlike a hose that carries water to a single outlet, the porous wall is the watering surface. Run it beside the planting, leaving gentle curves rather than sharp bends or kinks. Optional fixing pegs can help keep the route in position.

Watering time depends on your soil, planting and water supply. Check the soil near the start and far end of the hose during the trial, then adjust the watering time to suit the bed. Surface droplets show that water is emerging; they do not measure how far it has soaked into the soil.

You can leave the hose above ground or bury it up to 20cm deep once the arrangement is working. Keep the supply connection accessible for inspection.

Check the connection and the pressure

The fitted male garden quick-connect nipple accepts a compatible female hose connector. The end cap closes the far end of the hose. A supply hose and tap adapter are not included.

The hose's maximum working pressure is 0.7 bar. A quick connector fitting onto your supply does not confirm that the pressure is suitable: check it and arrange appropriate pressure controls where needed.

The nominal ½-inch size refers to the soaker hose. If you want to cut it or build a different arrangement, plan the additional connections and closed ends before cutting.

Planning your 20m soaker-hose installation

Does it come with the end fittings?

Yes. This 20m length has a factory-fitted garden quick connector at the supply end and an end cap at the far end. Supply hose, tap adapter, pegs, timer and pressure controls are separate.

Can I run it straight from a garden tap?

Check both the connection and the pressure. The fitted male quick connector accepts a compatible female garden hose fitting, but the hose must operate within its 0.7-bar maximum working pressure. Use suitable pressure controls if your supply exceeds that limit.

How long should I leave it watering?

There is no single watering time for every bed. Trial the layout above ground and check the soil beside plants near both ends. Adjust the time for the soil, planting and available supply rather than relying only on visible droplets.

Can I bury it or cut it to fit?

It can be used on the surface or buried up to 20cm after testing. The hose can be cut, but you will need suitable connections and end stops for any new arrangement. It is intended for garden irrigation, not drinking water or hot water.
