  • Join two 50mm-bore pond hoses — equal ribbed hosetails at both ends make a straight hose-to-hose connection. This black plastic fitting keeps the same nominal hose size through the joint and has a central ring separating the two seating areas.
  • 95mm overall length — the reference photograph also marks a 44mm hosetail section. Check these fitting dimensions when planning the connection, then leave space for the seated hoses, securing clips and gentle bends beyond the joint.
  • Match the hose’s internal bore — this is the 50mm version, commonly labelled 2-inch in pond hose ranges. Check the metric internal diameter and wall profile of both hoses; an outside-diameter pipe size or a BSP thread label describes a different measurement.
  • Two hose connections to secure — select clips separately from the outside diameter of each hose once seated over the ribs. Keep both clips accessible and support the run so the fitting is not carrying sideways pull from the hose.
  • One bare joiner supplied — hose, clips and pond equipment are not included. Both ends are unthreaded hosetails; use a matching adapter for a threaded equipment port. Inspect both hose joints with water before covering the route.

Description

A straight join for 50mm pond hose

Extend a suitable hose run with this straight 50mm joining connector. Equal-size ribbed hosetails take the hose at either end.

A narrow central ring separates the two seating sections, giving you an accessible hose-to-hose joint.

One black plastic connector supplied. Hose and securing clips are sold separately.

Allow room for both hoses

The reference photograph shows a 95mm overall length and a 44mm hosetail section. The central ring separates the two hose seating areas.

Plan space for the completed joint as well as the bare fitting. Keep access to both clips and support gradual hose bends beyond the connector.

Make both hose connections accessible

Check the fit, securing clips and hose route before completing the joint.

Match both hose bores

Use suitable 50mm internal-bore hose on each side. Check the wall profile and fitting requirements. Confirm the hose bore rather than an outside-diameter pipe size or a BSP thread label.

Secure each end

Seat the hoses on their respective ribbed sections following the hose’s fitting guidance. Select clips for the fitted outside diameter and leave access to tighten them. Hose and clips are not part of this listing.

Support and check the run

Arrange the hose without a sharp bend or tension across the connector. Keep the joint supported and accessible. Inspect both connections with water before covering the hose route or making the join difficult to reach.

Questions about the 50mm straight joiner

Is this a hose reducer?

No. Both ends are the same nominal 50mm hosetail size. This connector joins suitable hoses with matching 50mm internal bores. If the hose sizes differ, choose a reducing connector with the correct size at each end instead.

Does the 95mm overall length include both hosetails?

Yes. The reference photograph marks 95mm across the complete fitting and 44mm for a hosetail section. These are bare connector dimensions. Allow further room for hose seating, clips, access for tightening and gradual supported bends in the installed run.

How do I choose clips for 50mm hose?

Measure the outside diameter of each hose after it is seated over the hosetail, then choose a suitable clip range and style for that hose. The 50mm size refers to the intended internal bore; it does not by itself give the fitted outside diameter. Clips are sold separately.

Can it connect directly to a 2-inch BSP port?

No. This fitting has two unthreaded hosetails. A 2-inch BSP equipment connection needs the appropriate threaded-to-hosetail adapter, matched to the port’s size and gender. Check the 50mm hose bore separately when choosing that adapter.
