Description
Control garden water at the connection
This nylon lever tap combines a ¾-inch BSP male inlet with a curved, barbed outlet. It gives you an accessible flow-control point on a correctly matched garden water fitting.
Move the blue lever to control the water and connect a suitable hose to the ribbed tail. The black polyamide body keeps the fitting lightweight, while the downward-facing spout lets the hose leave below the tap.
One tap supplied. Hose, retaining clips and mounting adapters are sold separately.

Check the thread and the hose separately
These are two different connections, each with its own fitting requirements.
Match the inlet thread
The tap needs a ¾-inch BSP female fitting. Identify the connection already on your tank or adapter; a different thread needs the appropriate adapter. BSP is a nominal thread size rather than a direct ruler measurement.
Match the hose bore
The hose fits over the ribbed outlet tail. Check the hose’s internal diameter against the actual tail rather than choosing it from the tap’s BSP inlet label. Do not force an unsuitable hose onto the fitting.
Support and retain the hose
Use a suitable clip or retaining method for the hose and application. Allow a gentle hose route with enough slack that pulling or moving the hose does not twist the tap body.

A hose tail, not a click-fit spigot
The ribbed outlet is designed for a hose to fit over it. It is a different connection style from the male spigot used by garden quick connectors.
A female click-fit hose connector will not attach directly to this barb in the same way. Match the hose itself to the tail and choose an appropriate means of retaining it.
Check the inlet joint and hose connection after assembly. A correctly matched connection and careful fitting matter more than tightening a clip or thread harder.
Fit carefully and keep the lever accessible
Prepare the connection before introducing water to the tap.
Isolate the water first
Close or drain the relevant supply before replacing a fitting. Clean and inspect the mating thread, then start the connection by hand using the sealing arrangement appropriate to the joint.
Position and test
Orient the curved outlet downwards and keep space around the lever. Operate the handle gently, introduce water gradually and inspect both connections for leaks before regular use.
Drain exposed fittings
Disconnect or drain the exposed tap and hose when freezing conditions are expected. Keep dirt out of the outlet and avoid leaving the hose under tension against the nylon body.
Questions about connecting this tap
Does ¾-inch BSP tell me which hose to buy?
No. It describes the tap’s male inlet thread. The hose connection is a separate barbed outlet, so check the actual tail and your hose’s internal diameter before choosing a hose.
Can I use a female garden quick connector on the barb?
A female click-fit connector needs a matching male quick-connect spigot. This tap is supplied with a ribbed hosetail instead. A suitable hose fits over the tail and should be retained appropriately.
Will this fit directly onto my water butt?
Only if the existing outlet presents a matching ¾-inch BSP female connection. Check the fitting on your container first. A different thread or an unthreaded tank wall needs a suitable adapter or mounting fitting, sold separately.
Are the hose and clip included?
This listing supplies one nylon lever tap with its barbed outlet. Hose, retaining clips, tank adapters and mounting fittings are separate items and should be selected for your own installation.

What is BSP?
What is BSP thread size?
BSP (British Standard Pipe) is a nominal pipe-thread size, not a direct measurement of a fitting’s bore or outside diameter. For example, a ½-inch BSP male thread measures about 21mm across its outer thread crests.
These figures are approximate outside diameters of male BSP threads, to help identify the nominal size. They are not inch-to-millimetre unit conversions:
- 3/8" BSP → 16.66 mm
- 1/2" BSP → 20.95 mm
- 3/4" BSP → 26.44 mm
- 1" BSP → 33.25 mm
- 1.25" BSP → 41.91 mm
- 1.5" BSP → 47.80 mm
- 2" BSP → 59.61 mm
- 3" BSP → 87.88 mm
- 4" BSP → 113.03 mm
Measure across the outside of a male thread, then check its pitch and whether it is parallel or tapered. Diameter alone does not confirm compatibility. Check the product’s stated thread specification before connecting.
