Equal compression
Join two pipes of the same outside diameter through a right angle. Both ends use compression connections.

Take your pipework around a 90° corner with an equal compression elbow, or change from MDPE pipe to a BSP-threaded connection at the turn.
Choose by pipe outside diameter, connection type and, where applicable, BSP size. Each option supplies one elbow. The photographs below explain the three connection styles; select the exact size above.
Look at what will connect to each end before choosing a size.

Join two pipes of the same outside diameter through a right angle. Both ends use compression connections.

Connect MDPE pipe to a compatible female BSP component. The male thread is on the outside of the black outlet.

Connect MDPE pipe to a compatible male BSP component. The female thread is inside the black socket.
The selector lists the available combinations. Not every pipe size has every threaded option.
Metric pipe sizes refer to the outside diameter of the pipe. BSP sizes are nominal thread sizes, not a direct inch measurement of the opening. See “What is BSP?” in the product information for thread-identification guidance.
Leave access to the nuts and threaded joint, with support for the adjoining pipework.
Isolate and depressurise the supply. Cut sound MDPE pipe square and clean the end. Follow the fitting guidance for insertion depth, assembly and any required pipe liner.
For a BSP option, match both nominal size and thread gender. Align the joint squarely and use an appropriate sealing method; avoid cross-threading or overtightening the plastic body.
Support the pipe and attached component separately. Restore the supply gradually and inspect each joint. Suitability depends on the complete assembly and its service conditions.
No. Each order quantity supplies one elbow in the selected option. Pipe, clips, mating fittings, separate seals and pipe liners are not included.
No. The grey nut belongs to the MDPE compression connection. On a threaded option, the separate black male or female outlet is the BSP connection.

What is BSP thread size?
BSP (British Standard Pipe) is a nominal pipe-thread size, not a direct measurement of a fitting’s bore or outside diameter. For example, a ½-inch BSP male thread measures about 21mm across its outer thread crests.
These figures are approximate outside diameters of male BSP threads, to help identify the nominal size. They are not inch-to-millimetre unit conversions:
Measure across the outside of a male thread, then check its pitch and whether it is parallel or tapered. Diameter alone does not confirm compatibility. Check the product’s stated thread specification before connecting.
