Lever control with a direct hose connection
This nickel-plated zinc garden tap combines a red lever with an angled hose-tail outlet. It gives a suitably connected garden water point straightforward manual on/off control.
At the supply end is a ½-inch BSP male thread. At the spout is a barbed tail for ½-inch hose: two different connections, each with its own fitting requirements.
One tap with hose-tail outlet supplied. The hose, clip and wall fitting in the illustration are separate installation components.

Push the hose over the barb
The ribbed tail is designed to sit inside a suitable ½-inch hose end. The hose needs to seat fully over the tail; use an appropriate hose clip to secure the connection.
This is a direct hose-tail outlet, rather than a male garden click plug. A female Hozelock-type quick connector does not click onto these ribs.
Choose the clip for the hose’s outside diameter when fitted. The ½-inch hose size describes its nominal internal diameter, so it does not specify the clip size.

Match the threaded supply fitting
The inlet has an external ½-inch BSP thread for a suitable matching female fitting. Check the connection and sealing arrangement for your installation before fitting the tap.
BSP sizes are nominal names, not the measured outside width of the thread. The “What is BSP?” guide beneath the technical details explains how to identify them.
The body is zinc with nickel plating. Its silver appearance is the finish; it is not a solid-brass tap.
Make both connections before opening the supply
Fit the inlet
Isolate the water supply. Fit the male inlet to a suitable female connection, using the sealing method appropriate to those fittings and leaving room to operate the lever.
Secure the hose
Seat a sound, correctly sized hose end over the barb and secure it with a suitable clip. Hose and mounting components are not supplied with this tap.
Check the installation
Open the supply gradually and inspect both joints. Turn the water off before adjusting a connection or removing the hose.
Choose the right connections
Does ½-inch mean the same thing at both ends?
No. The inlet is a nominal ½-inch BSP thread. The hose-tail size refers to the nominal internal diameter of the hose that goes over it. Match the supply thread and the hose separately.
Can I click my female hose connector onto the outlet?
No. This version has a barbed hose tail for a hose fitted directly over it. Choose a tap with a suitable garden quick-connect outlet if you need a click-on connection.
Is the tap made from brass?
No. This SKU has a zinc body with a nickel-plated finish. The material and finish are listed separately in the technical details.
What is included with the tap?
One lever tap with the hose-tail outlet shown. The hose, hose clip, wall fitting and mounting hardware in the installation illustration are not included.

What is BSP?
What is BSP thread size?
BSP (British Standard Pipe) is a nominal pipe-thread size, not a direct measurement of a fitting’s bore or outside diameter. For example, a ½-inch BSP male thread measures about 21mm across its outer thread crests.
These figures are approximate outside diameters of male BSP threads, to help identify the nominal size. They are not inch-to-millimetre unit conversions:
- 3/8" BSP → 16.66 mm
- 1/2" BSP → 20.95 mm
- 3/4" BSP → 26.44 mm
- 1" BSP → 33.25 mm
- 1.25" BSP → 41.91 mm
- 1.5" BSP → 47.80 mm
- 2" BSP → 59.61 mm
- 3" BSP → 87.88 mm
- 4" BSP → 113.03 mm
Measure across the outside of a male thread, then check its pitch and whether it is parallel or tapered. Diameter alone does not confirm compatibility. Check the product’s stated thread specification before connecting.
