Click your hose on when you need it
Keep the tap fitted to your garden water point and attach the hose through a male garden quick-connect outlet. A compatible female connector on your hose clicks onto the plug beneath the spout.
This nickel-plated zinc lever tap has a ½-inch BSP male supply inlet and a long red handle for manual on/off water control.
One tap with male outlet supplied. The female connector, hose and wall fitting shown in the illustration are separate.

Choose the connector for your hose
The close-up shows the male quick-connect plug and its sealing ring. It receives a compatible female garden hose connector, allowing the hose to be disconnected while the tap stays fitted to its supply.
Choose the female connector’s hose-end size to match your hose bore. For a ½-inch hose, the separate black-and-orange female hose connector shown in Frequently bought together is one suitable option.
A bare hose does not fit directly over this plug. Turn off the water and release pressure before disconnecting the hose.

Match the inlet to your water supply
The external ½-inch BSP male inlet needs a suitable matching female fitting and the appropriate sealing arrangement for the installation.
BSP is a nominal thread size, not the measured width across the thread. It describes the supply connection separately from the hose size at the outlet.
Leave space for the red lever to move, and check that the supply fitting supports the tap and attached hose. The zinc body has a nickel-plated silver finish.
Connect, check and disconnect
Fit the supply side
Isolate the water supply. Install the male inlet in a suitable female fitting, using the sealing method appropriate to those connections.
Attach the hose
Fit a compatible female connector to your hose, then engage it with the tap’s male plug. Open the supply gradually and inspect both joints.
Remove when needed
Shut off the water and release pressure before removing the hose connector. The tap can remain in its supply fitting, ready for the next use.
Before choosing your tap
Does the ½-inch inlet mean I must use ½-inch hose?
No. It names the BSP supply thread. Use a female garden quick connector that matches both this tap plug and the bore of your hose.
Can I push bare hose onto the outlet?
No. This version has a male quick-connect plug. A compatible female hose connector is required; it is separate from the tap.
Is a female hose connector included?
No. One lever tap with the male outlet shown is supplied. The female hose connector, hose and mounting fittings in the installation illustration are not part of this listing.
Can I screw it straight through a water-butt wall?
The male inlet needs a suitable female fitting or tank adapter. Check the wall thickness, available thread engagement and sealing arrangement for that installation. A mounting or bulkhead kit is not included.

What is BSP?
What is BSP thread size?
BSP (British Standard Pipe) is a nominal pipe-thread size, not a direct measurement of a fitting’s bore or outside diameter. For example, a ½-inch BSP male thread measures about 21mm across its outer thread crests.
These figures are approximate outside diameters of male BSP threads, to help identify the nominal size. They are not inch-to-millimetre unit conversions:
- 3/8" BSP → 16.66 mm
- 1/2" BSP → 20.95 mm
- 3/4" BSP → 26.44 mm
- 1" BSP → 33.25 mm
- 1.25" BSP → 41.91 mm
- 1.5" BSP → 47.80 mm
- 2" BSP → 59.61 mm
- 3" BSP → 87.88 mm
- 4" BSP → 113.03 mm
Measure across the outside of a male thread, then check its pitch and whether it is parallel or tapered. Diameter alone does not confirm compatibility. Check the product’s stated thread specification before connecting.
