Description
A garden hose connection with a tap at the tank
Connect a ½-inch garden hose to a matching S60x6 IBC outlet, with a brass bib tap to turn the supply on and off. The included brass hose-end connector clicks onto the tap's male quick outlet, so you can detach the hose without unscrewing the tank adapter.
The hose stays secured in its connector when you release the quick joint. Turn the tap off first, then disconnect at the collar when you need to move or put away the hose.
Cap, brass tap and brass hose-end connector supplied. Tank, existing tank valve, hose and sealing tape are not included.

Threaded at the tank. Quick-release at the hose.
The tap's ½-inch BSP male inlet screws into the cap's matching female port. The cap then mounts on a compatible male S60x6 tank or existing valve outlet.
At the hose end, the supplied brass female connector holds a suitable ½-inch-bore garden hose with its hose-end nut. Its quick-release end clicks onto the tap's male plug. The hose-end nut and the release collar do different jobs: one secures the hose, the other disconnects it from the tap.
The cap, tap with male quick outlet and female hose-end connector make up the kit. Fit bare hose into the hose-end connector, then connect that fitting to the tap.
Check the fit before connecting
Tank outlet
Match S60x6: nominally 60mm with a 6mm coarse pitch. Inspect the cap washer and leave clearance to turn the handle and release the hose connector. This compact cap is not an extended swivel adapter.
Garden hose
The included connector is for nominal ½-inch internal-diameter hose, about 13mm bore. Check the actual hose dimensions and that its wall fits the connector's gripping nut. The BSP inlet size is a separate thread measurement.
Sealing and support
Close the existing tank supply before fitting. Start screw threads straight and use suitable sealing where needed; PTFE tape is sold separately. Support the hose, open the supply gradually and check the joints.
Using the quick connection
Do I need to buy a separate hose-end connector?
No. One brass female connector for ½-inch garden hose is included, along with the tap and S60x6 cap. Fit it to compatible hose, then click it onto the tap's male quick outlet. Hose and sealing tape are separate.
Can I disconnect the hose while the tap is open?
Close the tap and release trapped pressure before pulling back the quick-release collar. Do not assume the connector will stop the tank supply automatically. The turn handle provides the manual shut-off.

What is BSP?
What is BSP thread size?
BSP (British Standard Pipe) is a nominal pipe-thread size, not a direct measurement of a fitting’s bore or outside diameter. For example, a ½-inch BSP male thread measures about 21mm across its outer thread crests.
These figures are approximate outside diameters of male BSP threads, to help identify the nominal size. They are not inch-to-millimetre unit conversions:
- 3/8" BSP → 16.66 mm
- 1/2" BSP → 20.95 mm
- 3/4" BSP → 26.44 mm
- 1" BSP → 33.25 mm
- 1.25" BSP → 41.91 mm
- 1.5" BSP → 47.80 mm
- 2" BSP → 59.61 mm
- 3" BSP → 87.88 mm
- 4" BSP → 113.03 mm
Measure across the outside of a male thread, then check its pitch and whether it is parallel or tapered. Diameter alone does not confirm compatibility. Check the product’s stated thread specification before connecting.
