Description
A brass tap for stored garden water
Make a matching IBC outlet useful for everyday watering with this S60x6 adapter and brass bib tap kit. Turn the T-bar handle to control the water at the tank, whether you are filling a watering can or feeding a hose towards your plants.
The downward-facing 13mm (½-inch) barbed hosetail fits inside a compatible hose. It gives you a direct hose connection, with a removable tail beneath the tap.
One black adapter cap and one brass tap with hosetail supplied. Tank, hose, hose clip and thread-sealing tape are separate.
Three connections, each with a different job
At the tank: the large black cap screws onto an exposed male S60x6 outlet, nominally 60mm with a 6mm coarse thread pitch. Compare the actual outlet thread before ordering; a “2-inch” label alone does not establish the fit.
Between cap and tap: the tap's ½-inch BSP male inlet screws into the cap's ½-inch BSP female port. Keep the threads straight, avoid overtightening the plastic and use suitable sealing where required. PTFE thread-sealing tape is available separately.
At the hose: push compatible 13mm (½-inch internal diameter) hose over the brass barb and secure it with a suitable hose clip. Choose the clip to suit the hose's outside diameter when fitted. Support the hose so its weight does not strain the tap.
Before you connect it
Does this fit any 2-inch IBC outlet?
No. This cap requires a matching male S60x6 thread. Other coarse-thread sizes and BSP outlets need a different adapter. Check the thread and leave room to turn the handle and route the hose clear of the tank's cage or base.
What else is needed to attach a hose?
Use compatible 13mm (½-inch bore) hose and a suitable hose clip, both sold separately. The supplied outlet is a barbed hosetail, not a male quick-connect plug. Check the cap washer and threaded joints during assembly, then test the fitted kit for leaks before leaving it in use. Thread sealing may be needed at the BSP joint.

What is BSP?
What is BSP thread size?
BSP (British Standard Pipe) is a nominal pipe-thread size, not a direct measurement of a fitting’s bore or outside diameter. For example, a ½-inch BSP male thread measures about 21mm across its outer thread crests.
These figures are approximate outside diameters of male BSP threads, to help identify the nominal size. They are not inch-to-millimetre unit conversions:
- 3/8" BSP → 16.66 mm
- 1/2" BSP → 20.95 mm
- 3/4" BSP → 26.44 mm
- 1" BSP → 33.25 mm
- 1.25" BSP → 41.91 mm
- 1.5" BSP → 47.80 mm
- 2" BSP → 59.61 mm
- 3" BSP → 87.88 mm
- 4" BSP → 113.03 mm
Measure across the outside of a male thread, then check its pitch and whether it is parallel or tapered. Diameter alone does not confirm compatibility. Check the product’s stated thread specification before connecting.
