Description
A smaller threaded connection for your IBC
Keep the tank's coarse-thread connection and add a useful ¾-inch BSP female outlet. This shallow black adapter cap screws onto a matching male S60x6 IBC outlet, giving you a central socket for a compatible tap or connector.
Choose the fitting that suits your setup: the BSP socket accepts a matching ¾-inch BSP male fitting. The cap itself has an open port, so it is an adapter rather than a solid closure or an on/off valve.
One adapter cap supplied. Tank, valve, tap, hose and outlet connectors are separate.
Match the tank thread, then choose your outlet
The wide thread fits the IBC. S60x6 is a nominal 60mm coarse thread with a 6mm pitch. Check the actual exposed male outlet on your tank or valve before ordering; it is a different standard from 2-inch BSP.
The small socket takes your fitting. The central thread is ¾-inch BSP female. Add a matching male-threaded tap, hose-tail adapter or quick-connect adapter. BSP describes the thread, not the hose size: choose the hose connection on your separate fitting to suit your hose.
For a garden quick connection, the separate black ¾-inch BSP male adapter in Frequently bought together is one option. It creates a male garden quick-connect point for a compatible female hose connector. Neither connector nor hose is included with this cap.
Close and safely isolate the tank before fitting or changing parts. Check the tank-side sealing ring is clean and seated, start the coarse thread squarely and use the sealing method appropriate to your separate BSP fitting. Support attached fittings and check the joints for leaks before opening the supply.
Before fitting your adapter cap
Can I use it to blank off an unused outlet?
Not on its own. This cap has an open ¾-inch BSP female port. Use a suitable solid closure if your aim is to blank off the outlet, and keep the tank valve closed while changing fittings. This adapter does not include a plug or valve.
Will a bare hose fit straight into the centre?
No. The centre is a female pipe thread, not a hose grip. Add a matching ¾-inch BSP male fitting with the hose tail or quick connection your hose needs. The BSP size alone does not specify the hose diameter.

What is BSP?
What is BSP thread size?
BSP (British Standard Pipe) is a nominal pipe-thread size, not a direct measurement of a fitting’s bore or outside diameter. For example, a ½-inch BSP male thread measures about 21mm across its outer thread crests.
These figures are approximate outside diameters of male BSP threads, to help identify the nominal size. They are not inch-to-millimetre unit conversions:
- 3/8" BSP → 16.66 mm
- 1/2" BSP → 20.95 mm
- 3/4" BSP → 26.44 mm
- 1" BSP → 33.25 mm
- 1.25" BSP → 41.91 mm
- 1.5" BSP → 47.80 mm
- 2" BSP → 59.61 mm
- 3" BSP → 87.88 mm
- 4" BSP → 113.03 mm
Measure across the outside of a male thread, then check its pitch and whether it is parallel or tapered. Diameter alone does not confirm compatibility. Check the product’s stated thread specification before connecting.
