Description
A quick connection with a lever at the tank
Add a male garden quick plug to a matching S60x6 IBC outlet, with a lever valve between the tank and the connection. Clip your compatible female hose-end connector onto the plug when you need water, then close the lever before disconnecting.
The tank cap, plated brass valve and chrome-finished zinc plug can stay assembled at the IBC. You can remove the hose at the quick joint without unscrewing those parts.
Three-part adapter kit supplied. Tank, existing tank valve, hose, female hose-end connector and sealing tape are not included.
What connects where?
The black cap has a ¾-inch BSP female port. The valve's male inlet screws into it; the male quick plug screws into the valve's female outlet. These are the three components supplied with IBC001C.
The small chrome plug at the front is the male side of the garden quick joint. It needs a matching female hose-end connector. Bare hose does not grip or clamp directly onto this plug.
Already have a compatible connector on your hose? Keep using it. If you need one for ½-inch hose, our zinc-chrome female hose connector is available separately. Choose the hose-end fitting for your own hose size: the kit's ¾-inch BSP assembly thread is a different measurement.
Set up the threaded parts once
Check your IBC outlet
The cap fits a matching male S60x6 tank or existing valve outlet, nominally 60mm with a 6mm coarse pitch. Check the thread, cap washer and clearance for the lever before fitting. This compact cap is not an extension adapter.
Prepare the BSP joints
Start the valve and plug threads straight. Use suitable thread sealing where required; PTFE tape is sold separately. The tank-cap washer seals a different joint. Open the supply gradually and inspect the assembly.
Connect and disconnect
Attach a compatible female connector already fitted to your hose, and support the hose so it does not pull on the outlet. Close the lever and release trapped pressure before operating the connector's release sleeve. Flow depends on the tank level and connected equipment.
Before choosing your hose connection
Is a female hose-end connector included?
No. This kit includes the cap, lever valve and male quick plug. A compatible female hose connector and the hose itself are separate. If your hose already has a matching female garden quick connector, you do not need a second one.
Does releasing the quick connector stop the water?
Use the lever valve to shut off the supply before disconnecting and release any trapped pressure. Do not rely on the male plug to stop water automatically when the hose is removed.

What is BSP?
What is BSP thread size?
BSP (British Standard Pipe) is a nominal pipe-thread size, not a direct measurement of a fitting’s bore or outside diameter. For example, a ½-inch BSP male thread measures about 21mm across its outer thread crests.
These figures are approximate outside diameters of male BSP threads, to help identify the nominal size. They are not inch-to-millimetre unit conversions:
- 3/8" BSP → 16.66 mm
- 1/2" BSP → 20.95 mm
- 3/4" BSP → 26.44 mm
- 1" BSP → 33.25 mm
- 1.25" BSP → 41.91 mm
- 1.5" BSP → 47.80 mm
- 2" BSP → 59.61 mm
- 3" BSP → 87.88 mm
- 4" BSP → 113.03 mm
Measure across the outside of a male thread, then check its pitch and whether it is parallel or tapered. Diameter alone does not confirm compatibility. Check the product’s stated thread specification before connecting.
