Description
A ¾-inch supply inlet. A click-fit hose outlet.
This grey plastic garden tap connects a matching female ¾-inch BSP supply fitting to a hose fitted with a compatible garden quick connector. Use the white turn knob to control the water at the tap.
¾-inch BSP male inlet · male garden outlet plug · grey and white
One tap with outlet plug supplied. Hose and female hose connector are separate.

Match the inlet first, then the hose connector
The labelled ¾-inch BSP male inlet screws into a matching female BSP fitting. BSP is a nominal thread size, so it is not the diameter you would read directly across the outside of the thread.
The downward outlet is a male garden quick-connect plug. Fit a compatible female quick connector to your hose, then clip it onto this plug. Bare hose is not pushed over the plug as it would be over a ribbed hose tail.
The female connector's hose end must match your hose bore. A ¾-inch BSP supply inlet does not mean that this tap requires ¾-inch hose.
Before fitting to a wall plate, tank adapter or other supply fitting, check the available clearance. The broad white knob needs room to turn, and the hose connector needs space to attach and release.
Plan the fit before turning on the water
Check the thread, handle clearance and hose connection as separate parts of the installation.
Connect to the supply
Isolate the water. Support the matching female BSP fitting and use the sealing method required by that connection. Avoid overtightening the plastic thread.
Clip on the hose
Fit a compatible female garden quick connector to your hose. With the tap off, connect it to the outlet plug and check that it has latched securely.
Inspect the joints
Restore water gradually and check the inlet and outlet. Release pressure before disconnecting the hose. Isolate and drain exposed fittings before freezing weather.
Questions about this ¾-inch BSP tap
Does ¾-inch BSP describe the hose size?
No. It describes the tap's male supply inlet. Choose the female quick connector's hose-gripping end to suit your hose bore, independently of the BSP inlet size.
Will it fit directly onto a water butt?
Only if the connection is suitable for this ¾-inch BSP male inlet and there is enough clearance for the knob and outlet. Check the tank's fitting, sealing arrangement and space around the tap before ordering; it is not a universal water-butt replacement.
Is the white handle a lever?
It is a shaped turn knob. Turn it to control the flow and leave enough space for your hand around it when positioning the tap.
What do I receive?
One grey and white plastic tap with the pictured male garden quick-connect outlet plug. Hose, female hose connector, wall plate, supply adapters and sealing materials are not included.

What is BSP?
What is BSP thread size?
BSP (British Standard Pipe) is a nominal pipe-thread size, not a direct measurement of a fitting’s bore or outside diameter. For example, a ½-inch BSP male thread measures about 21mm across its outer thread crests.
These figures are approximate outside diameters of male BSP threads, to help identify the nominal size. They are not inch-to-millimetre unit conversions:
- 3/8" BSP → 16.66 mm
- 1/2" BSP → 20.95 mm
- 3/4" BSP → 26.44 mm
- 1" BSP → 33.25 mm
- 1.25" BSP → 41.91 mm
- 1.5" BSP → 47.80 mm
- 2" BSP → 59.61 mm
- 3" BSP → 87.88 mm
- 4" BSP → 113.03 mm
Measure across the outside of a male thread, then check its pitch and whether it is parallel or tapered. Diameter alone does not confirm compatibility. Check the product’s stated thread specification before connecting.
