Description
Connect the hose. Turn the white knob.
A grey plastic bib tap with a male garden quick-connect outlet for a compatible click-fit hose connector. The white turn knob controls the water at the tap.
½-inch BSP male inlet · plastic construction · grey and white
One tap with outlet plug supplied. Hose and female hose connector are separate.

Two connections, each with a different job
The ½-inch BSP male inlet joins a matching female BSP supply fitting. BSP is a nominal thread designation, rather than the outside diameter measured across the threads.
The downward outlet carries a male garden quick-connect plug. A compatible female hose connector clicks onto that plug and seals against its ring.
The female connector must also suit the hose you are using. Do not choose its hose-bore size from the tap's BSP inlet name: the inlet thread and hose connection are different parts of the setup.
A bare hose does not push directly over this plug as it would over a ribbed hose tail. Fit the appropriate female quick connector to the hose first.
Leave room to connect and disconnect
Check the inlet fit, knob access and hose-connector clearance before installation.
Match the supply
Isolate the water before fitting. Support the matching female BSP connection and use its required sealing method, avoiding overtightening the plastic inlet.
Attach the hose connector
Use a compatible female garden connector suited to your hose. With the water off, connect it to the male outlet plug and check that it has latched securely.
Check the finished setup
Restore water gradually and check the joints. Leave slack in the hose, release pressure before disconnecting, and isolate and drain exposed fittings ahead of freezing weather.
Questions about the grey quick-connect tap
Does the hose connect directly to the outlet plug?
The plug takes a compatible female garden quick connector fitted to your hose. Bare hose is not pushed over the plug. Hose and female connector are separate.
Does ½-inch BSP mean I need ½-inch hose?
No. ½-inch BSP describes the male supply inlet. Choose a compatible female garden quick connector whose hose-gripping end matches your actual hose bore.
How is the water controlled?
Turn the white shaped knob at the top of the tap to adjust the flow. Leave enough room around it for your hand when positioning the tap.
What is included?
One grey and white plastic tap with the pictured male quick-connect outlet plug. Hose, female hose connector, mounting plate, supply adapters and sealing materials are separate.

What is BSP?
What is BSP thread size?
BSP (British Standard Pipe) is a nominal pipe-thread size, not a direct measurement of a fitting’s bore or outside diameter. For example, a ½-inch BSP male thread measures about 21mm across its outer thread crests.
These figures are approximate outside diameters of male BSP threads, to help identify the nominal size. They are not inch-to-millimetre unit conversions:
- 3/8" BSP → 16.66 mm
- 1/2" BSP → 20.95 mm
- 3/4" BSP → 26.44 mm
- 1" BSP → 33.25 mm
- 1.25" BSP → 41.91 mm
- 1.5" BSP → 47.80 mm
- 2" BSP → 59.61 mm
- 3" BSP → 87.88 mm
- 4" BSP → 113.03 mm
Measure across the outside of a male thread, then check its pitch and whether it is parallel or tapered. Diameter alone does not confirm compatibility. Check the product’s stated thread specification before connecting.
