Description
A smaller inlet with a downward outlet
This 150mm polypropylene tap combines a ½-inch BSP male inlet with a 90° downward barbed outlet. Use the blue lever to control dispensing from a matching tank fitting.
Check the fitted position leaves space for your watering can or hose.
One tap supplied. Tank adapter, hose, clips and sealing materials are separate.

Two ends with different jobs
The ½-inch BSP male thread is the inlet. It screws into a corresponding female fitting on the tank or an adapter. Check what is already installed: an IBC’s original coarse-thread outlet is a different connection.
The stepped tail is the dispensing end. Use it to pour directly into a container, or fit suitable flexible hose over the tail and secure it appropriately. It is not a garden quick-connect spigot.
Choose the hose by its fit over the actual tail. A BSP inlet name describes a thread and cannot be used on its own to select the hose bore.
Make room for the container and the handle
Check the complete installation before filling the tank.
Match the inlet first
Confirm a ½-inch BSP female connection is available. Start the thread by hand and use the sealing arrangement appropriate to the mating fitting, without overtightening the plastic body.
Check the fitted reach
The 150mm tap length is not a guaranteed distance from the tank wall to the outlet. Part of the inlet enters the fitting, and an adapter can change the position. Leave space beneath the spout for your watering can or bucket.
Keep the lever accessible
Allow the blue handle to move freely without touching nearby fittings. Support an attached hose so it cannot pull or twist the tap while you are watering.
Fitting and first use
Isolate the supply or lower the water below the outlet before replacing a tap. Inspect the threads and sealing surfaces, then fit the tap with the outlet facing down.
Introduce water gradually and inspect the inlet joint and any hose connection before leaving the tank in use. Close the lever after dispensing and drain exposed fittings before freezing conditions.
Questions about the half-inch tap
Is 150mm the reach from my tank wall?
It is the tap length. The installed reach depends on how much thread enters the fitting and whether an adapter is used. Check the final outlet position and the space below it rather than treating 150mm as wall clearance.
Does the inlet take a ½-inch hose?
The ½-inch BSP designation identifies the male inlet thread, not the hose-tail size. The hose connects at the separate stepped outlet, so check its actual fit and secure it with an appropriate clip.
Can it replace any water-butt or IBC tap?
It needs a matching ½-inch BSP female connection. Some tanks use another thread or need a bulkhead fitting or adapter. Identify the connection on your own container before choosing a replacement.
What is supplied with this model?
One polypropylene lever tap is supplied. Hose, clips, tank adapters and sealing materials are separate, so choose those parts to suit your existing installation.

What is BSP?
What is BSP thread size?
BSP (British Standard Pipe) is a nominal pipe-thread size, not a direct measurement of a fitting’s bore or outside diameter. For example, a ½-inch BSP male thread measures about 21mm across its outer thread crests.
These figures are approximate outside diameters of male BSP threads, to help identify the nominal size. They are not inch-to-millimetre unit conversions:
- 3/8" BSP → 16.66 mm
- 1/2" BSP → 20.95 mm
- 3/4" BSP → 26.44 mm
- 1" BSP → 33.25 mm
- 1.25" BSP → 41.91 mm
- 1.5" BSP → 47.80 mm
- 2" BSP → 59.61 mm
- 3" BSP → 87.88 mm
- 4" BSP → 113.03 mm
Measure across the outside of a male thread, then check its pitch and whether it is parallel or tapered. Diameter alone does not confirm compatibility. Check the product’s stated thread specification before connecting.
