Match the tap inlet
The male 1-inch BSP inlet screws into a matching female BSP fitting. The tap length is 170mm; the reach from the tank wall will depend on the fitting and how far the inlet engages.

This bundle pairs a 45° polypropylene lever tap with one roll of PTFE thread-sealing tape for a compatible water-butt or rainwater-tank fitting.
The tap has a 1-inch BSP male inlet, a blue control lever and a downward-facing hose tail. Check the tank connection and available space before fitting.
One tap and one tape roll supplied. Tank adapter, hose and clips are separate.

The 170mm tap provides the flow control and angled outlet. The separate roll of PTFE tape is for thread sealing where appropriate to the mating fitting.
This is tape on a roll, rather than a flat sealing washer. Choose the sealing method required by the joint you are fitting; included tape does not make a mismatched thread suitable.
The bundle does not include a tank adapter, bulkhead fitting, hose or hose clips. If you are replacing an existing tap, check its inlet specification before ordering.
Thread size, container outlet and hose fit are separate checks.

A large original IBC outlet is not automatically 1-inch BSP. An appropriate separate adapter may be needed to connect that outlet to this tap.
The ridged spout fits inside suitable flexible hose. Match hose to the tail and secure it appropriately. The inlet’s BSP label does not identify the hose bore.

Isolate the water supply or empty the container below the outlet before replacing the tap. Check the mating thread and its required sealing method, then apply thread tape where appropriate, keeping loose material clear of the water passage.
Fit carefully without overtightening the plastic body. Introduce water gradually and inspect the inlet joint before filling or leaving the tank in use.
Support an attached hose so it cannot pull on the tap. Close the lever after dispensing, and drain exposed fittings before freezing weather.
One roll of PTFE thread-sealing tape is supplied separately from the tap.
No. The tap needs a matching 1-inch BSP female connection. Tape is a sealing material, not a thread adapter. Check your tank outlet and any adapter already fitted.
Not directly. The outlet is a ridged hose tail for suitable flexible hose, rather than a garden quick-connect plug. Match the hose bore to the tail and use an appropriate clip.
That depends on the existing container connection and whether you want a hose attached. A tank adapter, bulkhead fitting, hose or hose clips may be needed; these are separate from the one tap and tape roll supplied here.

What is BSP thread size?
BSP (British Standard Pipe) is a nominal pipe-thread size, not a direct measurement of a fitting’s bore or outside diameter. For example, a ½-inch BSP male thread measures about 21mm across its outer thread crests.
These figures are approximate outside diameters of male BSP threads, to help identify the nominal size. They are not inch-to-millimetre unit conversions:
Measure across the outside of a male thread, then check its pitch and whether it is parallel or tapered. Diameter alone does not confirm compatibility. Check the product’s stated thread specification before connecting.

Products that have been modified or damaged through customer action are not eligible for return. This includes, but is not limited to, items that have been cut, trimmed or otherwise altered—such as a tarpaulin or pond liner resized to your specifications—or any product showing damage beyond normal inspection handling.
